Coffee Background
From the remote highlands of Aceh in northern Sumatra, this unique natural-process coffee is grown in the Bener Meriah region by Gayo smallholder farmers. The area is famous for its volcanic soil and misty climate, which help create bold, full-bodied coffees.
This lot is processed using a “slow dry” natural method. After careful handpicking, the cherries are dried whole over several weeks in raised beds under shade. This technique enhances fruity sweetness and develops complex chocolatey depth.
